What do you think they'd do if I did this at the Memorial?

this year was going to be the first time in my life that i did not attend the memorial.

but i just thought of something that i would love to try out for a stir.

what do you think would happen if i skulled the entire glass of wine?

A friend and I were recently discussing this...

If you have a few friends in the area that share the same beliefs, why not celebrate this in your own gathering?

After all, in it's earliest beginnings, that's what it was. A few friends and fellow believers.

Your faith in what the Eucharist means, is not dependant on others. Perhaps, quietly by yourself if there are no others, you could always have your own 'memorial'.

Or go to a Catholic church on a Sunday to at least be with others who share a faith and respect for the Eucharist.

(you can tell I've no idea what religion you now practice, apologies if I've said something wrong)

soon a pierced nose.. a few years ago i did ruby highlights on black and my sister outright said it was too punky and the elders would more than likely take away my privileges.. this is my way of "stickin' it to the man" (ok, i got that from the sprint commercial, but it sounds good.. my husband loves it.

i started the process last night, but my hair is so dark, it's taking 2 days.. it should be interesting running into people from ye ol' hall.. .

So what is the beast's "name"? Of course the beast's "number" is "666" -- but that's not it's "name". The beast's name and number are two different things. The Bible does indeed tell its readers what that NAME is. I know the beast's name, do you?

Yes. It's fairly cryptic, many scholars (real ones) have done extensive work on the subject.

This Is fun. I feel free today. Yesterday at the mall I got completely shunned by a group of my old friends.

And it didn't make me sad, or mad, it made me laugh. I felt like waving my hands in their faces and going BOO!

I feel like finally, this is my life now. It doesn't belong to a group of ol' men.

It belongs to me.

And.... yeah, baldness was a concern, so far, hair is holding up well.

Although just in case it all backfired and my hair disintergrated, I had a back up plan....

Contorted Irony

it pains me to see all these topics trying to figure out whether a god exists or not.. it is not possible to figure it out.

Maybe we aren't supposed to just "figure it out".

I tend to think, that spirituality is a bit more of a lifetime path or journey.

A person who is an athiest today, could perhaps be a priest in 20 years.

A person who is a devout Baptist, could be practicing Islam in less then a year.

A person who was a jw might say they'll never lose their faith in God. Yet, by the time they end their intial visit on jwd, they're doubting what the tetragrammaton is even supposed to mean.

Perhaps, rather then worry today about a single absolute faith in one path, we should be open to all possibile realities. Be open to the meditation and the mediation.

Before You Do:

At our last Detroit Meet up, we were talking about the memorial.

One guy mentioned that at his congregation, he was almost certain, that they saved the wine from year to year.

Don't know if it's true, but....I'd hate to say throw back a glass of vinegar.

On the flip side, at my congregation, it was always a new bottle. At the end of the memorial, some one took the bottle home and just drank it.

Something tells me, as soon as you walk in the door, the attendants are going to be watching you like a hawk.

Truth be told...I was kinda tempted to do the same thing.

i am well connected with everyone in town, they all know and respect me as an authority on medicine.

If we forgive everyone who sins against us, does that not free us from sin?

i mean, is that not like having a free pass to do as you please?

as long as you freely forgive, when people sin against you, then does that mean our father will forgive us 99 times when we sin against him?.

sure wouldn't be hard to convince people to obey that command would it?

Yes and no.

I think the idea is, if one goes out on a sinning spree, with his consciousness fully intact, knowing what he is doing, with the idea that he is going to be forgiven, that might raise God’s brows. (if he has any…)

The thing is if one does that, then that might arise a suspicion as to not only a person’s faith, but just a basic belief. If a person doesn’t believe enough in the first place to at least try to refrain from a certain course of action, then why would he care about being forgiven?

Ok, the idea that if we forgive, than no matter what we are forgiven. Motivation? Forgive others with the intent to be forgiven?

However, that would be the whole issue. A sin is a sin is a sin. Even if your motivation is off, that is in itself a sin. That sin would be forgiven. If you forgive, genuinely forgive another for their act against you, then your act against God would be forgiven.

Is the act of disbelief a sin?

If so, and you continuously forgive others, out of human courtesy (is that a term?), then would that sin in itself be forgiven?

So could one be an atheist and still be forgiven their sin of disbelief, as long as they have been a kind, forgiving person in their lifetime?

Wow, this could go on for pages.

what if we unanimously decided that it was time to shun them and not respond to one word they have to say?.

Hm, Dave, I think you really have hit the nail on the head. That is what the scriptures were referring to, sometimes I suppose they just get to me and for all the disfellowshipping that the witnesses do, the not so nice side of me, every once in a while, would like to see them get treated that way.

yes, I know it's Not Christ like, I know it's not nice, I know it sounds completely rude, I know that it makes me just like them... just every so often, it bothers me to no end.

In my every day life, I can't do what I suggested. When I really sit back and think about it, if I knew Scholar on a personal level and he was behaving in just the same manner, for as angry and hurt as I could possibly feel... seriously, I am just not the kind of person who could push them away.

Maybe it's possible, that Scholar has a heart. That Schizm is in reality the kind of guy that if I didn't know who he was here, I could sit back and have a cup of coffee and shoot the breeze with.

So, I concede, I concede.

Whenever they start to get to me, I'll just poke my scholar and schizm dolls with pins and....

(oops) I mean I'll pray for them.
